Road Work Updates
Paving projects are scheduled for Union Street and Guptil Road in Waterbury this week. Union will be closed to through traffic and street parking Monday-Tuesday. Work continues on Interstate 89 northbound between Waterbury and Montpelier.
The newsiest Road Work Update in weeks: In Waterbury, Gregg Hill Road reopens after two months closed due to a collapsed culvert and Union Street to be closed Monday-Tuesday; paving on I-89 northbound between Montpelier and Waterbury getting underway; and a townwide road update for Duxbury.
Work is progressing on Camel's Hump Road in Duxbury slower than anticipated with bridge repairs expected to be completed this week. In Waterbury, multiple road projects are underway this week. A water/sewer line installation on Lincoln Street will mean one-lane traffic only on Wednesday and fixes are coming for the Gregg Hill 'chasm' and the Shaw Mansion 'dip.'

Monday is a holiday with work on most road and sidewalk projects halted for the day. In Waterbury, work will be ongoing however on the water line on Blush Hill in the vicinity of the Ashford Lane neighborhood.
Main Street curb and sidewalk repairs have been completed with one final step remaining to seal new concrete in the areas where patches were made. Projects from last week made slow progress given rainy weather. Sidewalks are under construction on Main and Stowe streets this week.
Work has begun to complete repairs on downtown sidewalks where utility poles were removed earlier this summer.
