Road Work is compiled from reports from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS), Waterbury Public Works, and other local highway departments.

Waterbury projects

Two projects continue this week in Waterbury and a paving project has been added to the schedule, according to Public Works Director Bill Woodruff.

  • Town highway staff are looking to complete the gravel resurfacing and ditching work on Sweet Road this week. The road is open to traffic, but there may be delays while work is taking place.

  • Bridge work continues on Guptil Road just south of the intersection with Kneeland Flats Road. A signal is in place for alternating single-lane traffic. Motorists are asked to proceed slowly through the work zone while workers are on site. Activity on this project is expected to shift to the opposite lane next week, Woodruff said.

  • Paving is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 9, in the Kennedy Drive neighborhood on Blush Hill this week. Woodruff said it will start in the Oakwood Estates section on Acorn Drive, moving to Ashford Lane and then to Kennedy Drive. The project will involve putting down two layers of asphalt, he said, adding that the schedule may be adjusted due to weather conditions this week.
