Communications Assistant

The Town of Waterbury is seeking to hire a Communications Assistant to prepare and disseminate a monthly town newsletter. The intent of the newsletter is to provide an easily readable, concise document that allows for residents to stay informed about their local government.

The applicant must have superb writing and communication skills. Knowledge of municipal government in Vermont is preferred.

Resident and Family Services Director

Medication & Resident Services Assistant

Assistant Public Works Director – Capital Projects

The Town of Stowe Public Works Department is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Public Works Director to become a member of our Public Works team, with a primary focus on planning, permitting, development, management and delivery of General Fund capital improvement projects.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred with a minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibilities, including at least 3 years as a Project Manager associated with Public Works projects, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Working knowledge of Vermont regulatory and permitting requirements and stormwater rules would be a plus. The ideal candidate will be personable, have excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Must possess a valid State of Vermont driver’s license.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 DOQ

Arena Attendant

The Town of Stowe Parks & Recreation Department is looking for a motivated, hardworking and friendly Arena Attendant to operate and maintain the prestigious state-of-the-art Stowe Arena. 

Exceptional customer service skills required. Duties include welcoming and assisting guests, maintaining and cleaning the facility, operating the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni), and ensuring a positive customer experience. Must hold a valid driver’s license. Zamboni experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate. This is a full-time year-round position. Night, weekend and holiday shifts required.

Water System Operator

Come join our team of talented municipal employees. The Town of Stowe Public Works Department seeks a qualified Water System Operator responsible for assisting with the operations, maintenance and repair of the municipal water system. The position requires the employee to be on a biweekly on-call rotation after regular working hours, and to be available for emergency responses if necessary.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, the ability to obtain a Vermont Water System Operator in Training Certification within six months and a Class 3 Vermont Water System Operator Certification within 18 months of employment. Demonstration of basic computer, mechanical and electrical skills are required. The ideal candidate will also have the skill to monitor, maintain, and perform minor to moderate level of repairs to water treatment, pumping and distributions systems.

Part-time Barista

Stowe Street Cafe is seeking a part-time Barista to join our team. 

Previous barista and/or hospitality experience is strongly preferred, but if you've got the right attitude, let's talk! The ideal candidate will be one who thrives in a fast-paced, open kitchen environment, has excellent communication skills, and is just as committed to customer service and quality as we are.

  • Shifts will typically be 10:30 am - 2:30 pm, Wednesday - Saturday. 

  • Occasional shifts may also be needed between 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

  • No late afternoon or evening shifts. 

  • Weekend availability is required. 

  • Approximately 16 hours per week.
