Assistant Town Clerk & Assistant Treasurer

The Town of Bolton is accepting applications for a new Assistant Town Clerk and Assistant Treasurer. Part-time or full-time is negotiable. Customer service, communication skills and the willingness to be a team player are essential. Responsibilities include land records recording, assisting with elections, processing vital records, assisting researchers and residents, taking minutes for 1 or 2 boards, providing back up for the treasurer, a variety of office tasks, and serving the public in person as well as by phone and email. This position is for someone with a can-do attitude and problem-solving skills who enjoys variety. Attention to detail, knowledge of Excel, Word, and computer literacy are required. Pay dependent on experience, will train the right person. Residency in Bolton is not a requirement. Position open until filled.

Animal Control Officer

The Town of Waterbury is seeking a person or persons interested in serving as Animal Control Officer (ACO). The role of the ACO is to resolve resident complaints related to dogs and their owners in a manner that is consistent with the Town’s Animal Control Ordinance.

The ACO is appointed by the select board, but will be supervised and responsible to the Municipal Manager. In addition, the ACO will work with the Town Clerk with regard to licensing and may work with the Town Health Officer in the case of dog biting incidents.

The successful candidate will have an appreciation and respect for animals and their owners, but will understand their role in keeping people and animals safe through the enforcement of the ordinance.

The primary role of the ACO is to mediate and resolve conflicts that sometimes arise between the general public and dog owners; a secondary role is to investigate instances of dog bites or animal cruelty.

Compensation is negotiable, but will include a minimum amount per response.

Full-Time Police Officers

The Stowe Police Department is seeking full-time police officer positions to help fulfill its mission to provide quality service in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner.

Stowe is a vibrant four season resort community offering world-class outdoor recreation. The community has 5,200 year round residents and can have over 15,000 visitors during peak periods. Stowe Police operates throughout the Town’s 72 square miles which includes over 90 miles of roadways.

Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus for Vermont certified officers, with half paid upon hire and half after one year. Minimum starting pay for a certified officer is $30.05 per hour as of July 1, 2024 and may be higher depending on qualifications and experience.

Applicants must be 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, possess a High School diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid Driver’s License. Applicant must be able to perform all the essential functions involved with police duties. The hiring process includes a physical fitness examination, polygraph, oral board, written exam, medical exam, fingerprint check, and extensive background check.
