Road Work | Week of Aug. 7-11

Road Work is compiled from reports from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS) and the Waterbury Public Works Department.
No major projects are planned for this coming week in Waterbury.
Waterbury
Armory Drive: Bridge work is completed.
Stowe Street: Sidewalk construction continues.
Winooski Street: Crews will be working on road repairs near the bridge and rear entrance to Dac Rowe Park.
Townwide: Road grading and other routine summer maintenance. Be on the lookout for crews with equipment to give them space to work.
State projects
Some Vermont Agency of Transportation projects have been temporarily suspended due to flood damage, inaccessibility to the work site, or contractors repositioned to assist AOT with emergency response and repairs.
Below is information on state projects in the Waterbury area for this week.
Interstate 89 | Richmond
Replacement of Bridge #29 along U.S. 2 over I-89 continues. Travelers can expect lane closures with traffic control present allowing for one lane of alternating travel.
Below on the interstate, Monday through Friday both southbound and northbound passing lanes will be closed from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. The interstate right shoulders remain closed within the vicinity of the bridge project area.
U.S. Rt. 2 | Richmond-Bolton
Rehabilitation of U.S. 2 continues with nighttime work in progress. Motorists can expect delays within work areas due to one-way alternating traffic at night and early morning, Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists can also expect to be traveling on some areas of gravel surface between Millet Street and the I-89 interchange. Project officials remind motorists to please slow down in the work zones.
Montpelier
A resurfacing project is underway along U.S. 2 and U.S. 302. Starting on the night of Monday, Aug. 7, and continuing through Friday, Aug. 11, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., motorists can expect lane closures and alternating one-way traffic between the eastern end of the project along U.S. 2 to the western end of the project near Baily Avenue. During daytime hours, motorists can expect lane closures and alternating one-way traffic throughout the project area.
Stowe | Route 108-Mountain Road
Along Vermont Route 108 in “The Notch” between Stowe and Cambridge, a parking and picnic area improvement project is underway. Motorists may encounter periods of one-way alternating traffic on this route as crews work between the former Long Trail and Hell Brook North parking areas.
