Road Work is compiled from reports from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS), Waterbury Public Works, and other local highway departments.

Waterbury projects

Public Works Director Bill Woodruff said crews will be out this week painting lines and other pavement markings on Main Street and other locations in downtown Waterbury. This will include crosswalks and parking space markings. Expect one-way traffic where this work is taking place to allow for the paint to be applied and to dry.

In addition:

  • Bridge work continues on Guptil Road just south of the intersection with Kneeland Flats Road. A signal is in place for alternating single-lane traffic. Motorists are asked to proceed slowly through the work zone while workers are on site. This project is anticipated to last until mid-July.

  • Gravel resurfacing and ditching work is underway on Sweet Road in the section closest to the intersection with Loomis Hill. The road is open, but there may be delays while work is taking place.

  • Water line work is wrapping up in the Kennedy Drive neighborhood on Blush Hill. Streets there will be paved later this summer.
