The Fayston Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization has launched its second annual Every Day in May for FAYston raffle with tickets on sale now. 

New state rules will allow more Vermont families to qualify for financial assistance to help pay for regulated child care, preschool, and afterschool care, according to the state Department for Children and Families. 

Harwood Union High School presents its spring musical, “The Addams Family,” April 4-6.   

New on Friday, March 15: Starting Monday, March 18, buses serving Waterbury, Fayston, Moretown and Waitsfield will resume their normal routes. Buses on routes in Warren and Duxbury remain on modified routes listed here until further notice.

The local nonprofit Launch Into Foreign Travel program has announced that it has awarded $6,575 in scholarships to seven Harwood Union High School students traveling to Rwanda, Denmark and India this year. 

The Harwood Union High School Rwanda Travel Study program will host a benefit concert this Sunday, Jan. 14, at Zenbarn in Waterbury Center. 

Students from both Crossett Brook and Harwood Union middle schools are teaming up to present the musical “Seussical Jr.” this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8-9.

With winter weather conditions forecast for overnight tonight into Thursday morning, Harwood Unified Union School District Superintendent Mike Leichliter shared the district’s winter-weather protocols message this afternoon with families.

Harwood Union High School’s drama program presents its fall play, “The Laramie Project,” this week, Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 9-11.

Gov. Phil Scott will hold his weekly press conference today at 11 a.m. at Central Vermont Career Center in Barre. The visit will highlight Careers in Construction Month and the governor will be joined by students, business leaders and workforce development professionals.

Action by the Vermont state Legislature and Gov. Phil Scott will allow Vermonters seeking education and training in certain high-demand fields a 50% tuition break at the Community College of Vermont during the upcoming academic year. 

Central Vermont Career Center holds its annual Awards and Recognition night for students on Thursday, June 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. and the community is invited to attend in person or watch online.

The Harwood Union Hall of Fame Committee this week announced seven nominees to be inducted in September into the 11th Harwood Hall of Fame class. 

Honoring the memory of a very active former Harwood Union High School student who loved the outdoors, a special scholarship with Sugarbush has been awarded to current Harwood sophomore, Eamon Langlais. 

The Socrates Café returns to Harwood Union High School on May 18. 

Twenty local middle school students attended the Vermont History Day competition at the Univeristy of Vermont last weekend sponsored by the Vermont Historical Society. 

Students and teachers from Harwood Union High School’s Rwanda Travel Study program will share stories from their recent trip to Africa at a special community event at Zenbarn on Sunday, April 16.
