UPDATED 3/20: More school bus routes go back to normal
Effective Thursday, March 21
All bus routes will resume their normal schedule EXCEPT for the following:
Bus 1: Camels Hump Road
Brookside students should meet Bus 1 at the intersection of Camels Hump Road and River Road at 7:10 a.m. and be picked up at 3:15 p.m.
Crossett Brook and Harwood students should meet Bus 1 at the intersection of Camels Hump Road and River Road at 7:40 a.m. and be picked up at 4:05 p..m.
Bus W1: Prickly Mountain Road
Warren Elementary students should meet W1 at the intersection of Fuller Hill and Prickly Mountain at 6:56 a.m. and be picked up at 2:55 p.m.
Crossett Brook and Harwood students should meet W1 at the intersection of Fuller Hill and Prickly Mountain at 7:43 a.m. and be picked up at 4:25 p.m.
New on Friday, March 15
The school district announced that effective Monday morning, March 18, buses serving Waterbury, Fayston, Moretown and Waitsfield will resume their normal routes.
Buses picking up and dropping off students in Warren and Duxbury will remain on the modified routes below until further notice.
Update March 11: School district officials say the revised mud season bus routes remain in effect this week given new snow and anticipated mild temperatures. The district will continue to use the modified routes listed below until further notice. Families will receive a communication and this post will be updated when normal routes resume.

The school district is emailing families with route-specific messages, so parents should check their email messages for the most up-to-date information.
Superintendent Leichliter notes that all of the route changes in effect this morning remain in place. A list of additional changes were emailed to families Wednesday evening. Those changes are added to the MORNING list below and are IN BLUE.
“From this point forward we will only send out alerts for morning and afternoon routes that need to change due to new conditions,” the superintendent explained. “Additionally, we will let you know when we are able to resume normal operations on bus routes. Thanks again for your patience and understanding during this early mud season.”

Tuesday’s rain and mild temperatures have contributed to worsening conditions on local gravel roads which have prompted school officials to announce changes in many bus routes for Wednesday.
In an email to families across the Harwood Unified Union School District, Superintendent Mike Leichliter shared a list of bus route changes. It is possible that additional routes will be added before buses depart to pick up students Wednesday morning, he added.
“Town road crews have advised the school district that there may be additional changes overnight as we experience more rain. We will send updates as additional information becomes available,” he added. “Thank you for your understanding and patience.”
Wednesday is the first day back in session following the February-early March school vacation for the district. On Monday all gravel roads in Waterbury were closed to through-traffic.
