Waterbury Rotary Club’s annual rite of springtime managed to fall right in between spring’s two giant snowstorms as hundreds of youngsters and their families met up at Pilgrim Park for the Easter parade and egg hunt.

Here are some September Scenes Around Town including Waterbury LEAP’s first Walk and Bike to School Day, the Rotary’s Hunt for Sunzilla (and the Other Green Monster) and the Children’s Literacy Foundation’s first community event since its grand opening in Waterbury Center earlier this year. And of course, Gordon Miller captures special moments in his travels.
Egg-cellent conditions for the Easter Parade and Egg Hunt
Conditions came together on Saturday for one of Waterbury Rotary’s best-attended Easter Parades and Egg Hunts in recent memory.
Christmas tree bonfire | Jan. 14
Gordon Miller captured the scene as a small crowd of about 20 adults and kids turned out for the annual Christmas tree bonfire at Anderson Park recently. Town officials hope to have the outdoor ice rink at the park ready for skating soon. Links for info on other skating locations here, too.
The Children’s Room Barn Dance
The last time The Children’s Room hosted its annual Barn Dance was 2019. After a three-year hiatus, the popular fall event catering to families with babies and preschool-aged children returned to Beard’s Barn on Barnes Hill late last month with some 150 youngsters and their grownups.

Waterbury ArtsFest had a perfect weekend for a Friday night dance party and Saturday arts market. The annual event supports Revitalizing Waterbury.
Warren July 4 Parade
Warren's Fourth of July parade attracted thousands to the quaint Mad River Valley Main Street with the most creative and passionate messaging and float-building reserved for political commentary.
In the final days of 2021, Jesse McDougall took his snowboard and video camera up to Sugarbush Resort in Warren where he met Waterbury Center's Avery Bard.
