There’s a little something for everyone in Waterbury Winterfest.

This year’s events were packed into five days at the start of the month with indoor and outdoor activities to suit a variety of ages, interests and weather conditions.

Challenges with the outdoor rink at Anderson Field steered organizers away from the usual broomball tournament, but other outdoor activities and events drew strong participation including snow soccer, volleyball and bocce to the annual Connector Trail Descent snowshoe/x-c ski tour from Blush Hill to Little River.

Wassailing groups entertained diners and pub patrons in downtown Waterbury ahead of their rousing finale performances at the American Legion. The annual Winterfest Game Show trivia extravaganza returned this year, also at the legion, for some friendly competition.

Wine and beer tastings (and even a beer quiz) drew die-hards. There were Valentines made, life-sized Vermont Candy Land, family bingo and more.

Organizers invite new volunteers to get involved to help plan and run Winterfest 2025. For more information, check out waterburywinterfest.com.
