It was blue skies for last Saturday's youth soccer jamboree at Hope Davey Park for players in the kindergarten and 1st/2nd grade divisions.

High school fall sports playoffs are well underway with Harwood Union teams competing in multiple contests this weekend and next week. Here’s the schedule for the next round. Any schedule changes due to weather will be noted on the Harwood Tandem calendar. 

Basketball sign ups for grades 1-6 close Oct. 15 for Harwood Youth Basketball. Register online now to sign up players in grades 1-6 for the season starting next month.  

Sunday marked the 37th running of the Leaf Peepers Half Marathon and 5K in downtown Waterbury and along the Winooski River in Duxbury.

It’s that time of year again and this year, the Leaf Peepers Half Marathon & 5K is back on and scheduled for this Sunday, Oct. 3. The popular foot race started in 1984 with the 5K added in 1990. This is the 37th running after it skipped 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the second year in a row, Zenbarn's soccer team in the Central Vermont Soccer League took top honors in the annual Matt Reeves memorial soccer tournament held last weekend in Bethel. The event raised over $800 for its student-athlete college scholarship fund.

Harwood Cross-Country runner Ava Thurston made it three years in a row being first to the finish line at the Vermont State Division II XC Championships last weekend - a victory her team savored while they took second place in the team competition.
