Summer scenes 2024

September 8, 2024 | Photos by Gordon Miller

With two remaining weeks of summer on the calendar, we’ve gathered up a collection of scenes (mostly) from photographer Gordon Miller taken over recent weeks. These images of people and places each tell a little story of their own.

Sunday, Aug. 18, wasn’t the warmest or driest day of the summer. But while it wasn’t a top day for people to head to the pool, a few local dog owners brought their pups for Waterbury Recreation’s doggie swim day just before the town pool closed for the season. The lifeguards just watched the strong four-legged swimmers as they frolicked with toys and swam some laps. Rec Director Katarina Lisaius said she’s not sure if they will try this again next year. Pups wanting their own swim day should let her know.
