Rotary update: Super Bowl, breakfast pies, & a bottle drive

February 8, 2025 | By Tori Taravella

To the Community:

It's a busy time of year for the Waterbury Rotary Club and there are many ways you can help us as we help the community!

Next weekend, we have our beloved annual Pie for Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be all-you-can-eat sweet and savory pies of every kind imaginable, with fruit pies, pizza, whoopie pies, shepherd's pie, and so much more! There will also be coffee and cider, plus a 50/50 raffle. Adults are $10, children 12 & under are free!

Now through the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, you can also support the Waterbury Rotary Club with our Super Bowl Pick'em Palooza! Answer 10 fun and easy questions about the big game and donate $10 for a chance to win $200! Enter online at waterburyvtrotary.org/page/superbowl.

What do all of these fundraisers support? Our community! Each year, we hold free events like the Concerts in the Park Series (Thursdays, June 12- Aug. 15), Not Quite Independence Day (a.k.a. NQID, June 28), Sunzilla, Santa in the Park, and the Easter Egg Hunt (April 19).

We give back to our local students and we co-sponsor the Harwood Rotary Interact Club with the Mad River Rotary Club. You can also support them directly now with their Bottle Drive in progress, which is a fundraiser for the Harwood Music & Performing Arts program's sound system upgrades! The drive runs through Feb. 22. Drop redeemable cans and bottles at Rodney's Rubbish before then and let the redemption center staff know the funds are for Harwood Interact. We also support graduating seniors with scholarships, give third graders dictionaries, and offer foreign exchange programs through Rotary International!

In summary, we love to give back to our community year-round and we would appreciate your help with our upcoming fundraisers.

So, in summary: Mark your calendar to join us for Pie for Breakfast next Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon; enter the Super Bowl Pick'Em Palooza before kickoff this Sunday, and save your bottles and cans from the party to drop off at the Harwood Rotary Interact Bottle Drive by Feb. 22.

Thank you in advance!
