Public school preservation group supports new budget

June 2, 2020 | Mariah McGill, VCCS president

Dear Community,

The Vermont Coalition for Community Schools stands firmly behind the revised budget the Harwood Unified Union School District Board has warned for a special election on June 16. The Board was able to bring a revised budget that was $20,000 lower than the one voters rejected on Town Meeting Day.  The new budget does not include the closure of Harwood Union Middle School or Moretown’s 5th and 6th grades.

Many said it was impossible, but our voices were heard. The district administration and board have done the hard work of finding other ways to save money. Please support this budget and vote yes!

You can vote in person on June 16 or request a mail-in ballot by completing this online form https://mvp.vermont.gov or contacting your town clerk.
