Local youngsters share thanks

November 21, 2023

As we have done the past three years, Waterbury Roundabout asked readers to share their letters, photos, art, etc. to describe what they are most thankful this year ahead of Thanksgiving. We received three submissions from young people shared below.

We are thankful for another year of covering local news in and around Waterbury and for our readers who visit this online newspaper site each day to keep informed and connected. We’re especially thankful to the individuals and businesses who support the Roundabout with their contributions, ads and sponsorships.

Here’s wishing everyone a restful, festive and safe Thanksgiving.

Preschoolers’ Thankful Trees

Preschool teacher Bethany Fuller shared several Thankful Trees from members of Hunger Mountain Children’s Center’s Explorers class.

Parents, family, friends, toys figure prominently along with ice cream and lollipops, mac-and-cheese, the train station, the circus, bulldozers and one cat.

Teacher appreciation

I am thankful for my teachers, Ms. Williams and Mr. Taylor, because they are nice and help me understand what they are teaching.

Sending Vt socks across the world

I am thankful for the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces who are fighting terrorism, as well as everyone who helped me raise enough money to buy 480 pairs of Darn Tough military socks to send to them on the front lines.

I am also most thankful for my family, who I love so much.
