MakerSphere: We give, you give

February 5, 2021 | By John Bauer

To the community:

Waterbury Area MakerSphere wishes to thank our community for contributing to our organization in 2020.

Our volunteers came together at the beginning of the pandemic to sew and deliver over 3,000 facial coverings and hundreds of face shields to our healthcare and essential workers. Programs in our two locations became virtual and self-service in the safest manner. Our creative studios filled up offering an oasis for those in need of a private work space. And as the seasons shifted into darker days, members of our board reimagined the annual River of Light Lantern Parade bringing light to not just the Waterbury community but to Duxbury, Waitsfield and Middlesex.

Above all this, our organization was supported financially by you and your neighbors making our first ever annual appeal a great success.

Our successes are because of you – a community filled with incredibly warm and generous people who value the need to foster creativity through educational opportunities and workspace for all ages. With MakerSphere, you are helping people share their knowledge and build their creative skills in the arts, crafts and trades.

A peek into 2021 reveals MakerSphere supporting multiple public art/space projects, expanding the programming and growing the organization.

Thank you.
