LETTER: Thanking Downstreet for park spruce-up help

June 10, 2023

To the Community:

Many thanks to Downstreet Housing & Community Development for all of their volunteer labor on June 6 at Hope Davey Park.

Thirty or so volunteers worked placing wood chip playground material in and around our play structures to make them clean and safe for the users of the park. The volunteers also scraped and painted our pavilion and the tree seat near it and they repaired rotted wood on some of the buildings. In addition, they worked weeding and mulching some of the new trees to help spruce things up.

Through these efforts they were able to transform the park and get it ready for the busy summer season. The photos don’t do it justice.

Thank you,

Bill Woodruff
