Blush Hill/Main Street Update Sept. 10-17

BLUSH HILL

Paving is underway on Blush Hill Road and Lonesome Trail. Work is contingent on weather and could be interrupted if there is steady or heavy rain.

MAIN STREET

The following is from Waterbury’s Transportation Liaison, Barb Farr:

Thank you for your patience as the Main Street Reconstruction project replaced the aging infrastructure along Main Street in downtown Waterbury over the last three years.  It is quite an investment and transformation that should last for decades.  We all got through it!

There are two related items left to be completed as part of the overall Main Street reconstruction.  They are the concrete stairs at the Reservoir Tavern and SunflowerSalon next door that are planned to be completed this season, and the removal of the overhead wires in the core of the downtown.  The wires are in the process of coming down now and should be off the poles by next summer when the poles will be removed and sidewalks repaired. In addition, the timing on some of the new lamp posts need some tweaking so they are all on the same operational schedule.  None of this work is estimated to be disruptive or cause traffic delays.

Please take a minute to fill out the survey in the link below to let us know how you feel the construction and communication was carried out.  All feedback is welcome and appreciated.

This is anticipated to be the last correspondence for the Main Street project.  Enjoy the new streets and sidewalks!
