A Saturday one-vehicle crash in Middlesex claimed the life of a Moretown man.

State Police were called to the scene at the intersection of U.S. Route 2 and Vermont Route 100B in Middlesex shortly after 9 p.m. The driver, Ryan Booska, age 40 from Moretown, was the only occupant in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Montpelier EMS, police said.

Police determined that Booksa was driving north on Rt. 100B and failed to navigate a left turn. His vehicle went off the road and struck a tree, then crossed Rt. 2 and came to rest in a residential driveway, police said.

Booska's 2005 Honda Pilot was totaled in the crash. The police report also noted that Booska was not wearing a seatbelt.
