Harwood XC hosts Tuesday Summer Fun Runs starting July 11

July 8, 2023 | By John Kerrigan

Update July 25: The July 11 and 16 runs were canceled due to storms. Harwood XC says today’s run is on.

Harwood Summer Fun Runs for runners of all ages and abilities will begin on Tuesday, July 11. They will take place every Tuesday until the end of August.

Please note this is a change from past years when the Fun Runs were held on Mondays!

The events will consist of a 1/2K Kids Race (ages 7 and under), a Fun Run/Walk- Choice of 5K (3.1 miles) or 3K (1.8 miles).

All events take place on the cool, shaded wooded trails that comprise the Harwood XC Course. Both the Louzelle and Dowsville Brooks meander through the Harwood forest.

Registration is at 6 p.m. at the event. The Kids' Fun Run begins at 6:30 p.m. and the 3K/5K follows.

There is no fee for the Kids Run. The 3K/5K has a $5 fee. Families can purchase a season pass for $50.

All funds will help support the Harwood XC team and their overnight trip to Belfast, Maine, for the Maine Festival of Champions in the fall.

Come on out and run/walk with others on the beautiful Harwood trails. Members of the Harwood XC team are available to run with the youngsters in the Kids Fun Run, too.

Thanks to all who have supported the Harwood XC team!
