No gym? No problem!

Barre Aud hosts Harwood senior games tonight

February 15, 2023 | By Lisa Scagliotti

The gym floor replacement at Harwood Union High School is wrapping up but so is the 2022-23 basketball season.

Girls and Boys Basketball teams have played their whole schedule on the road this year after work to replace the floor damaged by an accidental fire sprinkler flood last fall got underway as practices were starting up.

It remains unclear whether any official games will take place in the gym this season but that won’t dampen the enthusiasm on Wednesday for the teams’ back-to-back senior night games at the Barre Municipal Auditorium.

Traditionally used for season playoffs, the regional venue is popular with teams and fans alike.

Admission is free for both games. The girls game starts at 5:30 p.m. against U-32. The boys tip off at 7 p.m. against Williamstown. Short ceremonies honoring the seniors on both teams will take place 15 minutes before game time. Coaches Tommy Young and Jay Bellows remind fans to wear their black and gold school colors.

Senior girls players this year are: Ciera Fiaschetti, Mia Lapointe, Cierra McKay (captain), Sadie Nordle, Ayden Parrish, Cameron Rocheleau, Jill Rundle (captain), Abby Young (captain).

Senior boys players this year are: Lewis Clapp (captain), Aiden Dalley, Parker Davey, Cole Flaherty, Cole Hill (captain), Nathan Kudriavetz, Iyah Lavit (captain), Boon Maher and Cooper Olney.

The games also will be carried live on WDEV Radio Vermont with Brent Curtis. Find that on the air at AM 550 or FM 96.1, and streaming online at wdevradio.com.

Barre Auditorium is located at 15 Auditorium Hill in Barre.
