Sign of fall on the way: Youth soccer sign-ups open

August 10, 2023 | By Waterbury Roundabout

Like those random red and orange leaves people find and try to ignore this time of year, a sign of fall around the corner is sign-ups for fall youth soccer.

Registration is now open through Sept. 7 for local kids planning to spend their autumn Saturdays on the pitches around town and even get in a game or two under the lights at Dac Rowe.

Waterbury Youth Soccer is a recreational soccer league for players from kindergarten through sixth grade from Waterbury, Duxbury, and surrounding communities. The season starts with practices the week of Sept. 4. Kindergarten through second grade teams finish with their jamboree on Oct. 21. The Gary Griffith Invitational Jamboree for grades 3-6 is scheduled for Oct. 28.

Registration fees through Aug. 23: $40 per child for kindergarten; $50 per child for 1st-2nd graders; $55 per child for 3rd-6th graders. Scholarships are available.

Fees increase by $10 after Aug. 23 through Sept. 7 when sign-ups close.

More information and registration are online at waterburysoccer.com.
