The former Mad River Lacrosse and Harwood Youth Lacrosse programs have combined into one new program called Highlander Lacrosse and registration is now open for the 2024 spring season of practices, games and events.

Organizers say it’s never too late to pick up a stick, so novice players are welcome to sign up. The program stresses at all levels that kids have fun learning to play lacrosse and making new friends.

The program offers co-ed “Chillax” teams for boys and girls in kindergarten-2nd grade. Separate girls and boys teams are organized by age for players in grades 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8.

The K-2 Chillax program is free, but registration is required. For players in grades 3-8, registration is $100 before Feb. 1; after Feb. 1, the fee increases to $120 per player. USA Lacrosse Membership ($35) is required for registration.

Official outdoor practices commence in April. Some team coaches may also arrange pre-season indoor sessions before April. Practices run 1-1.5 hours and happen two or three times a week.  Games are scheduled to begin during the first week of May and continue through mid-June. Games are jamboree style with teams participating in two games during the jamboree.
