The warmest Halloween in memory brought out a larger-than-usual crowd of witches, goblins, ghosts and more of all ages in downtown Waterbury this Halloween.

Randall and Elm streets were bustling as usual. The sights and sounds included many elaborate decorations and displays by residents and even a band. Main Street, Stowe Street were hopping too with the Waterbury Fire Department welcoming trick-or-treaters and serving up hot dogs alongside the usual candy and glowing accessories. American Legion volunteers had a trick-or-treat table, too, as many got into the spirit that this year didn’t require umbrellas or multiple layers under costumes.
