Revitalizing Waterbury is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for its 2024 Event and Project Sponsorship Program.

The goal of the program is to support Waterbury's community by providing financial grants and sponsorships to local organizations seeking to conduct events or projects that will help fulfill RW's mission. Grants are intended to support projects and events that will happen by April 2025. Applications are due Monday, April 1.

The application is posted online at revitalizingwaterbury.org/grantprogram.

For those curious about what Revitalizing Waterbury is all about and its mission, here is some background.

Often referred to as RW, we are a community organization dedicated to supporting the town of Waterbury. Our focus lies in bolstering our local businesses, promoting tourism in our town, and enhancing the beauty and physical appeal of our streets. With over 30 years of history, RW has a significant impact on the Waterbury community.

Did you know that RW owns the Waterbury Train Station, completely restoring it to its historic splendor in 2006?

Operating with a core staff of three, RW counts on numerous volunteers. Our nine-member Board of Directors works diligently to ensure that RW remains financially stable and our work stays on course. Last week, we thanked Katya D’Angelo for her contributions as a board member for the past six years. You know Katya as the owner of Bridgeside Books – stop by and say thank you!

Revitalizing Waterbury will provide monthly updates and news about our activities in the Waterbury Roundabout. For more about RW including volunteer opportunities, visit revitalizingwaterbury.org. Karen Nevin is executive director of Revitalizing Waterbury. karen@revitalizingwaterbury.org
