Rep. Torre: ‘We must be Vermont Strong’

November 13, 2024

To the voters of Duxbury, Moretown, Fayston, Waitsfield and Warren:

I’m so grateful to have been re-elected on Tuesday and am honored to serve our Washington-2 towns and Vermont for another term. Thank you for your trust in me.

I deeply appreciate the support I received and the honest and galvanizing feedback and ideas shared with me by other candidates and community members.

This campaign season we dove into the complexity and urgency of the issues we’re facing on housing, property taxes, flood resilience, education and healthcare. These are the issues that will require the full attention of the administration and our legislature, and our most productive work together to really address the cost of living crisis in our state. The legislative makeup will look different next term, hopefully setting us up for more effective collaboration. We lost some deeply experienced and committed legislators on Election Day, but I’m committed to tackling the difficult work ahead with new colleagues.

Given the national election outcome, continuing progress on critical issues like climate, housing, and equity makes our success at the community and state levels even more essential. We must be Vermont Strong despite any federal headwinds and ensure our state stays the welcoming, caring, and safe place we love.

Spending time in every town and visiting with hundreds of voters where they live and work has been energizing and inspiring, and I’m feeling more equipped than ever to do my best in Montpelier. I’m excited to be joined by Candice White and have her positivity and local insights working on our behalf.

Be well and keep in touch,

Rep. Dara Torre

Moretown

Democrat Dara Torre was re-elected as one of two state representatives in the Washington-2 Vermont House district covering Duxbury, Moretown, Fayston, Waitsfield and Warren.
