To the Community:

The search is still on for the artist or artists who can help transform Stowe Street Alley in Waterbury from abandoned eyesore to welcoming environment.

Revitalizing Waterbury and the Stowe Street Alley Steering Committee want YOUR ideas for a permanent medallion within the pathway, and a gateway at the entrance to the alley. The finalists for each project will receive an honorarium ($500 and $800 respectively) and a budget for fabrication ($8,000 and $30,000 respectively) to create the medallion and gateway.

The application deadlines for artists to submit design proposals for the medallion and gateway have been extended to May 8.

Installation is planned for this summer for the medallion and mid-late fall for the gateway.
