LETTER: Sabin thanks voters, applauds ‘democracy at its best’
March 6, 2025
To the Community:
I want to thank everyone who voted in this election, especially those who took the time to write my name in for Select Board. I have no doubt that Mike Bard and Tori Taravella will work hard for our entire community on the select board.
Mike, please continue to be a vote for the silent majority. Your knowledge and experience are greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Tori, for taking the time to introduce yourself to me yesterday. We will probably see a lot of each other in the next few months, and your work on the select board will be as successful as that on the school board.
Evan, you had some great numbers, so do not give up! I would love to see you be more active at the select board meetings, and you should try again next year.
This town meeting day was very exciting! I loved the turnout. This was undoubtedly democracy at its best. It is true that controversy certainly draws a crowd. Several community members on both sides of the discussions delivered some compelling messages. We have the best town and some great people who live here. I am glad we had this day to get to know each other better and learn more about how our local government works.
I will still attend select board meetings and the Housing Task Force committee meetings. Please contact me if you want anything addressed with the board, and I will make sure it gets presented to them. My contact info is sjsabin@hotmail.com or 802-249-6709. You can click here to receive an email when a new Select Board agenda is available. I will ensure the agenda is posted to Front Porch Forum (If you are not a member, it is a great resource, click here to join). Go to the Waterbury town Facebook page here. Text “Waterbury” to 91896, to get text alerts from the town, and “Hi” to 802-200-2644 any time you need assistance from the Town of Waterbury (For more information).
Please stay involved and informed, ask questions, voice your opinions, and continue to vote.
