To the Community:

My name is Hailey Huber. I am a 7th grader at Crossett Brook Middle School and a hockey goalie for the Central Vermont Black Bears Tier 2 U14 girls team.

As many of you know, I was invited to play in the U14 World Selects Invitational Elite Tournament 2025 in Chaminox, France. I will be on a team with girls from the United States and Canada and we will play against multiple international teams. We will play in both Switzerland and France in April.

I am honored to be given this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I want to thank the community, my family and friends, coaches and teammates for their generous support in helping me make this trip possible.

To all of you who donated bottles, purchased reusable grocery bags, flowers at Kennedy Florist in Northfield and/or made cash donations, a huge THANK YOU. Your generosity and support has been amazing.

I also want to send a special thank you to my Mom and Dad. For all the late-night practices and weekend after weekend traveling across not just the state of Vermont but all of New England so I can play hockey – doing what I love to do, for being my biggest supporters, THANK YOU.

Hailey Huber

Editor’s note: To contribute to Hailey’s fundraising, drop off bottles and cans at Rodney’s Transfer Station on River Road in Waterbury and tell staff to donate the redemption funds. Or email Samantha.huber0701@yahoo.com.
