I am both grateful and honored to announce my candidacy for the Select Board 1-year position in our town of Waterbury. I moved to Waterbury in 2016 and have worked as a classroom teacher in Stowe and served as the vice president and president of the teacher’s union for six years. From this, I bring with me a wealth of experience in leadership, collaboration, and community engagement. Now, I am eager to extend my commitment to service to our community as a member of the Waterbury Select Board.

As teacher’s union president, I effectively navigated the impacts of COVID-19 on our schools as well as the smooth transition from the Stowe Teachers’ Association into the larger Lamoille South Educators’ Association under Act 46. This meant working with seven different school buildings to ensure safe and equitable work practices across the district.

In Waterbury, I have been an active member of the Waterbury Area Trails Alliance both in maintaining trails and helping organize events. This past year, I worked alongside many of you on flood cleanup, donating both resources and time to the cause. While heartbreaking, the experience was a testament to the resilience of the community and the commitment of our neighbors to one another.

Throughout my career, I have been guided by the values of transparency, trustworthiness, and hard work. These values have shaped my approach to leadership and decision-making, emphasizing the importance of integrity, accountability, and inclusivity in all endeavors. I am open to hearing differing perspectives on any issue and, like always, will lean on my core values to make smart decisions with our entire community in mind.

In closing, I am deeply invested in the well-being and prosperity of Waterbury, and I am eager to serve as your representative on the Select Board. With your support, I am confident that together, we can build a brighter future for Waterbury—one that is characterized by resilience, sustainability, and inclusivity.

Thank you for considering my candidacy, and I look forward to earning your trust and support in the upcoming election.
