Harwood Interact: Thanks for all of the bottles and cans
March 20, 2021 | By Ellett Merriman
To the Community:
Harwood’s Rotary Interact Club would like to thank the community and everyone who donated cans and bottles to the Waterbury Senior Center.
We obliterated the amount we collected last year with a whopping 18,377 cans and 461 liquor bottles. That is amazing! Who knew advertising early would improve the numbers so much!
We are beyond grateful for everyone who was a part of this fundraiser and would like to especially thank Ron Gulyas who, quite frankly, made this all possible. We also want to send our sincere appreciation to all of the folks at Rodney's Transfer Station for their patience in processing so many returnables.
In total we raised $1,001.25 from the cans and bottles. However, the Waterbury Rotary offered to match our total which doubles our amount raised. This means that our bottle drive raised $2,002.50 for the Waterbury Senior Center!
A huge thank you to the Waterbury Rotary Club for their incredible and ongoing support for all of Interact's efforts!
Thank you for pitching in and helping out and please stay tuned for our next project. We are partnering with student government to organize the yearly blood drive. More details to come soon.
