JB Weir: Waitsfield candidate heavily invested in community, school

Feb. 16, 2023

To the community:

My name is JB Weir and I live in Waitsfield with my wife, Erika, and two daughters Piper (age 11) and Ivy (age 8). Both daughters attend Waitsfield Elementary School in grades 3 and 6. I am a graduate of Northwestern University ('01) and Vermont Law School ('06). I currently work for the Town of Waitsfield as its Planning & Zoning Administrator.

I have been chair of the board of directors at Neck of the Woods childcare center where I oversaw its start and growth since March 2020. As Neck of the Woods is about to grow to 125 kids and staff, I am stepping down after my 3-year term as chair but will remain on the board. I was also a mentor in the Everybody Wins mentorship program at Waitsfield Elementary School for two years and I continue to help coach girls grade 3/4 soccer in the Mad River Valley.

I am heavily invested in this community and its schools, and I look forward to serving the school district in the years to come.

JB Weir

Waitsfield

JB Weir is a candidate for the Waitsfield seat on the Harwood Unified Union School District School Board on the ballot in the March 7 Town Meeting Day election.
