LETTER: Civil Air Patrol hosts open house Oct. 1 at Knapp Airport

September 27, 2024

To the Community:

I am involved with cadet programming with our local Civil Air Patrol Squadron that meets at Knapp State Airport in Berlin. We are hosting an open house on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

This is a great opportunity for youth and their families to learn about the Civil Air Patrol and the benefits it offers to them and their community.

The Capital Composite Squadron invites the public to check out the exciting Civil Air Patrol program at the Edward Knapp Airport passenger terminal from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program provides youth, ages 12-21, the opportunity to learn about aerospace, emergency services, and leadership while building a network of friends and self-confidence.

In addition to meeting program participants and leaders, there will be opportunities to try a flight simulator and fly a drone through an obstacle course. There will be refreshments, too. Drop in anytime during the open house to learn more about the program and the unique opportunities the Civil Air Patrol provides.
