To the Community:
The Friends of Waterbury Reservoir is an organization that prides itself on being a contributing member to the community, both on and off the reservoir.
On June 7, board members of FWR teamed up with 12 enthusiastic and energetic volunteers from Darn Tough Vermont to conduct a clean-up of the reservoir water, shorelines and trails. Umiak Outdoor Outfitters donated the use of canoes for those who needed them, and the hearty band of litter picker-uppers headed out as soon as the midday thunderstorms departed.
Vermont State Parks Ranger Ben Foltin provided suggestions on spots to clean, as well as on-water support.
This cooperative effort was very successful and indicative of how nonprofit organizations, companies, and community members can work together.
Thanks to all who participated!
