LETTER: Opportunity to meet Waitsfield candidate

October 22, 2024 | By Candice White

To the Community:

I am writing as a candidate for House of Representatives, Washington-2, representing the towns of Warren, Waitsfield, Fayston, Moretown and Duxbury.

Last week offered two opportunities for candidates in the VT House of Representatives race (Washington-2) to share their ideas on how to make Vermont better. The Valley Reporter and the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce hosted a Candidate Forum upstairs at Valley Meade on Tuesday, followed by the Harwood 7th grade candidate forum on Thursday. Both forums were well-presented and well-attended. I was particularly impressed with the professionalism of the Harwood seventh graders. Students took turns introducing the forum, asking well-researched questions, and keeping candidates on time with their answers. They even were successful in getting local media coverage through WCAX. Congratulations to all the Harwood seventh-grade students, and in particular to teachers Sarah Ibsen and Meredith Vaughn, for engaging students in local politics. Thank you!

The election is just two weeks away. I have two Meet-Up with Candice events scheduled this week. These are open to any voter in our five towns who would like to get to know me or share issues/concerns:

  • Tuesday 10/22 @ 7:30 AM Three Mountain Cafe, Waitsfield.

  • Tuesday 10/22 5:30 PM Lawson’s Finest Liquids, Waitsfield

I also encourage anyone to visit my website: candicewhite4vt.com.
