Not Quite Independence Day 2021 turns on the charm

Special Note: In addition to the Main Street project, repairs are scheduled for Reservoir Road leading to the Waterbury Reservoir State Park in Waterbury Center starting Monday, May 3. The road will be closed to the public for a week. The parking area above the gate at the top of the road will also be closed during this time.
Main Street Construction Update | Oct. 22-30
Water line replacement is underway starting Oct. 22 through Oct. 30 on lower Stowe Street between Bidwell Lane and Main Street. Stowe Street will be temporarily closed during this time. There will be pedestrian access and businesses will be open. Bidwell Lane will be closed to thru traffic but will be accessible by Foundry Street. Paving through Oct. 30: Expect traffic delays Tuesday through Friday, Oct. 27-30, for paving along all of Main Street and side streets.

Waterbury Rotary Club cancels NQID fireworks display
The COVID-19 pandemic had up-ended events for weeks and in Waterbury, the Rotary Club’s Board of Directors on Friday announced that the latest summer casualty will be the fireworks show planned for Not Quite Independence Day this year.
