Duxbury property tax payments due Friday

Duxbury Town Clerk Maureen Harvey reminds residents that property tax payments are due  Friday, October 13. 

Regular hours at the town offices are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Next week, the offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9, in observance of the Indigenous Peoples holiday. The offices will be open extra hours on Friday, Oct. 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Payments also may be left in the drop box outside the office entry anytime. 

Taxpayers wishing to pay their bill using a credit card can find details on the town treasurer’s page of the town website to do so. Credit card transactions carry a processing fee. Direct bank payments are possible as well and free, although the deadline to set that up for this payment cycle has passed. 

Any payments received after the 13th will be considered late and be assessed an 8% penalty and interest. Postmarks do not count and recent sporadic mail service may not allow enough time to send by mail now.
