No one was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 100 on Saturday afternoon that temporarily reduced traffic to one lane near the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream factory and visitors center.

According to Vermont State Police, the incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. as Andrew Adelson, 65, of Westmount, Quebec, was driving north on Rt. 100. Troopers arrived to find Adelson’s 2018 Porsche Macan in the ditch.

Adelson was the only person in the vehicle. He was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, however the vehicle was totaled, according to the police news release from Troopers Mae Murdock and John Gildea.

Waterbury Fire Department responded to assist along with Blackfork Towing of Richmond, police said.

Adelson was issued a civil violation ticket for violating the state statute regarding Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic, police added.
