Main Street Construction | June 25-July 3

Construction activities are ongoing in all project segments along Main Street and side roads; flaggers and pedestrian crossers are present throughout. Expect delays and one-way alternating traffic.

Workers will clean up all segments of Main Street and end work early on Thursday afternoon, July 2, with no construction on Friday, July 3, through the weekend.

Between Dac Rowe Park and Stowe Street: Residents and businesses should have water onsite for drinking, washing, and flushing while work is ongoing in this area. Sewer connections will continue next week on odd-numbered properties.  Patch paving will take place Wednesday and Thursday.

Between Stowe Street and Park Street: On Monday, final grading will happen ahead of paving Monday and Tuesday between Rusty Parker Park and the fire station.

On Monday and Tuesday, June 29-30, Bidwell Lane will be closed for through-traffic. Limited traffic will be able to reach upper Bidwell with one-way alternating delays. Access lower Bidwell through Foundry Street. Paving in this area is anticipated before the holiday weekend.

On Wednesday, July 1, a drainage crossing will be installed in front of the Bargain Boutique. Access to the business will be maintained by pedestrian greeters. Driveway access in this stretch of Main Street will be temporarily disrupted. Vehicles will be traveling on a gravel surface until paving is done. Public parking is available at 51 South Main Street.

From Park Row to the end of the project: Sidewalks on the odd-numbered side of South Main Street will be closed into July in this area. Please use new sidewalks on the other side of the street. Once the final roadwork is paved and elevated, the curbs will blend into the tapered driveway. Sidewalks on the odd-numbered side of the street are nearing completion. Work will cause temporary driveway access delays and closures. Driveways will be blocked for about 7 days after concrete is poured. Neighbors are encouraged to share parking or to use the State Office Complex lots (not at Dept. of Public Safety).
