On Wednesday afternoon, Harwood Union Superintendent Brigid Nease shared the 25-page document from the Vermont Agency of Education regarding reopening schools in the fall.

This is the first detailed guidance to schools about requirements associated with reopening in the fall for in-person instruction, Nease said. “It is a lengthy document that our admin team has been eagerly awaiting.”

School district administrators on Friday will begin “unpacking the information and setting up teams to work with our staff in developing implementation plans for each campus,” Nease said.

Specific plans for schools in the district will be shared with the public as they come together over the summer, she added.

Schools moved to remote learning in mid-March for the remainder of the academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. School leaders have been brainstorming scenarios under which in-person learning could resume in the fall depending on public health guidance.
