Waterbury Acts of Kindness nominations open through Nov. 25

Revitalizing Waterbury and Ivy Computer are teaming up for the fourth year to bestow surprise gifts upon various community members nominated to acknowledge their Acts of Kindness performed over the past year.

Nominations are open through Monday, Nov. 25, for anyone to suggest a recipient in the annual exercise of community appreciation.

Revitalizing Waterbury encourages residents to honor those who make a positive impact in Waterbury by brightening someone’s day, putting in extra effort, or just being supportive in a special way.

A contribution from Ivy Computer will ensure that all nominees receive a gift of Waterbury Bucks in early December. Waterbury Bucks are local currency, redeemable at over 50 local businesses. Nominees can be anyone in the community of any age.

“Last year 74 people — teachers, parents, children, neighbors, and even strangers — were recognized for making a difference in our town, whether seen or unseen. This program highlights those who have an effect upon others, whether through small gestures or larger acts of kindness,” said RW Board President Julie Frailey.

Ivy Computer President George Pierce explained that his company supports the effort because it values its hometown. “Ivy Computer prides itself on being one of the best places to work in Vermont, and being part of a great community is a big part of that,” Pierce said. “Celebrating local acts of kindness recognized by the community itself — with a reward that then supports the businesses of this town — is something we just have to support. Happy to call Waterbury home.”

Ivy Computer is a software company and payment processor on Vermont Route 100 in Waterbury Center.
