Waterbury Winterfest is now accepting applications for the 2024 grants program to expand access to recreation in the Waterbury area. The organization has set aside $8,000 for this year’s grant program, with grant awards ranging from $500 to $1,000.
Applicants are asked to provide a summary of their recreation project or program, the number of people likely to benefit from the initiative, and the amount requested. Applicants must also describe how their organization will participate in the upcoming Winterfest activities should they be awarded funding.

Grant funding is made possible by the participants and sponsors of Waterbury Winterfest, now in its 13th year. Winterfest thanks all for their dedicated support and invites anyone interested in getting involved to look at volunteer opportunities on the Winterfest website.
Organizations that have received grant support from Waterbury Winterfest include: Waterbury Youth Soccer, Green Mountain Performing Arts, Green Mountain Roamers, Green Mountain Adaptive Sports, Clyde Whittemore Little League, WATA, Waterbury Recreation summer programs, youth hockey, co-ed volleyball, Waterbury Rotary Concerts in the Park, The Children's Room, MakerSphere and Capital Soccer.
Run by volunteers, Waterbury Winterfest is the nonprofit organization behind the annual winter celebration that hosts indoor and outdoor recreation events that bring community members and visitors together to beat the mid-winter blues.
