Town staff and members of the Waterbury Historical Society announce two new exhibitions planned for summer shows in the Steele Community Room this summer.

The main meeting room at the municipal complex will present the displays starting June 13 with “Unmasking Brain Injury” prepared by the Brain Injury Alliance Vermont. This collection will run through July 1 and will feature masks created by people living with brain injuries throughout Vermont.

The alliance has held events where participants worked with paper mâché and paint to produce the masks for this exhibit. The artists all are survivors of brain injuries and their creations are meant to visually express their experiences, recovery process, or their emotions after brain injury.

The Brain Injury Alliance of Vermont has displayed similar exhibitions throughout Vermont. Find more information about the organization online at biavt.org
