Obituary: Dean E. Thurston

August 1, 2021It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dean E. Thurston, age 68, on July 15, 2021. Dean was born July 11, 1953 in Burlington, Vt., the son of Donald and Eloise (Marshall) Thurston. Dean was a 1971 graduate of Harwood Union High School.
On June 19,1971, he married Kim Peck, who predeceased him. At age 14, he started working for Uncle Jim Thurston, painting and working with sheet work. Later he worked for Russwood Decorating until he became too ill.
He is survived by his son Christopher of Glasgow, Kentucky; daughter Jessica Menard of Johnson, Vt. and her children, Teaghan and Brooke Menard; his brother, Don Thurston, of Williston; and his sister, Marcia Dill, of Morrisville.
There will be a celebration of his life on Aug. 15 at noon at the Waterbury Center Community Church, Route 100, Waterbury Center, Vt.
