Titled “Turtles to Toads,” this program will introduce Vermont’s reptiles and amphibians — some of the state’s most misunderstood yet captivating creatures.

Led by expert staff from the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, the event will feature an interactive slideshow about the lives, habitats, and ecological importance of these remarkable animals. Guests will have a rare opportunity to see live reptiles and amphibians up close and engage with touchable artifacts, making this a hands-on experience perfect for families, children, and nature enthusiasts alike.

For those who may feel uneasy around snakes or other creatures, this program is designed to foster understanding and appreciation, offering an opportunity to see these animals in a new light, according to the organizers.

While this event is free, organizers ask attendees to register in advance here.

The Stark Mountain Foundation is dedicated to preserving and sharing Stark Mountain's natural beauty and ecology and supports programs that promote and sustain that environment for the enjoyment of present and future generations. More information at starkmountain.org.
