November 29, 2023 | Fish & Wildlife Department news release
MONTPELIER – The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board will hold a special meeting to review recommendations from the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department on trapping and on hunting coyotes with the aid of dogs.
The virtual meeting will take place at 12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30. Most board members and department staff will be attending remotely. There is an in-person option for members of the public who cannot attend virtually at the Davis Building, 1 National Life Drive, Montpelier.
All board meetings are open to the public online and in person. Details are provided in the agenda posted to the department’s board meeting website.
The board initially proposed new regulations on trapping and on hunting coyotes with dogs at the direction of the legislature this past July. The board voted on revised rules in response to feedback from the Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules (LCAR) on Nov. 1. Responding to objections received from LCAR in November, the department is recommending further revisions to the board’s proposed regulations.
Information on the regulations can be found on the department’s regulations website.
