Dec. 19 deadline to send local letters to Santa

U.S.P.S. Operation Santa deadlines are sooner

November 29, 2023 | By Waterbury Roundabout

This just in from the North Pole regarding local letters to Santa Claus this year:

To the community:

Santa Claus and the elves are getting ready for the big day and waiting to hear from our young friends!

Letters to Santa can be mailed or dropped off at the Waterbury downtown (05676) and Waterbury Center post offices (05677). Stamps are necessary if letters are mailed, but not if they are placed in Santa’s mailboxes at either post office. (Ask a post office staffer if you aren’t sure where to drop off.)

The elves want to make sure to get the letters to Santa in time to send responses back, so please, send or drop them off no later than Dec. 19!

And don’t forget: A return address is necessary.

Ho, Ho, Ho!

From,

Waterbury’s Santa’s helpers

USPS continues national Operation Santa program

In addition to the annual efforts by local Santa’s helpers, the U.S. Postal Service’s Operation Santa program continues this year. The national effort pairs letters with volunteer “adopters” who fulfill requests from children from all around the country.

Dec. 11 is the deadline to post letters. Dec. 18 is the deadline for adopters to select a request to fulfill. More information along with online forms to send in a letter or volunteer to answer a request is online at Letters to Santa - USPS Operation Santa® Program | USPS.
