Waterbury Winterfest offers recreation grants

April 6, 2021 | By Waterbury Roundabout

Waterbury Winterfest has announced the return of its recreation grants program with an April 23 due date.

Although the pandemic is far from over, Waterbury Winterfest is looking forward to a somewhat more normal year ahead, said Winterfest President Roger Clapp.

After a successful month-long Winterfest Wanderlust Challenge, the group has decided to open the Winterfest grants program, which it has offered in the past. Waterbury area nonprofit organizations are invited to submit grant proposals ranging from $500 to $1,500 for projects that will expand access to recreation. The one-page application can be requested with an email to waterbury.winterfest@gmail.com. Completed applications are due by midnight on Friday, April 23.

Clapp said the application is the same as in previous years and both new and previous recipients are welcome to apply. "Winterfest is thankful to all our supporters who've helped put us in a position to provide stimulus to support rebounding initiatives for the community," he said.
