Revitalizing Waterbury seeks volunteers
August 5, 2020 | By Karen Nevin
Have you always wondered how you can get involved in the community? Have you taken a break from volunteering and want to get back? Revitalizing Waterbury has a number of committees working on fun and interesting projects to enhance our community, and we'd love for you to join us!
Committees generally meet once a month (currently over Zoom), and members take on projects that help support RW's mission. Committees that you can become involved in include:
Design Committee: Plays a key role in shaping the physical image of Waterbury as a place attractive to shoppers, investors, business owners, and visitors. Projects include decorating downtown with holiday garlands, supporting and enhancing public art, and planning and planting summer and fall floral displays.
Marketing Committee: Promotes Waterbury as a destination for commerce, culture, and community life for residents and visitors alike. Projects include creating a media kit for tourism writers, arranging new images for photo library, and planning seasonal marketing campaigns, including messaging and ad buys.
Waterbury Area Development Committee: Supports the long term economic vitality of Waterbury. Identifies opportunities to strengthen existing businesses and recruit new businesses. Assesses and advocates for the needs of the business community.
RW Board of Directors: Provides leadership, governance, development, and oversight to organization, including programs and budgets.
