George Woodard shares family photos, talks films at Montpelier library

Waterbury dairy farmer George Woodard is busy with creative projects including a photo exhibit at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier this month.
"The Roots of My Raising," is a collection of family photos on view accompanied by diary entries tracing 100 years on the Woodard Farm in Waterbury Center. Woodard will visit the library for a talk at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 30, the final day of the show.
In addition to the photographs, Woodard will discuss his filmmaking pursuits with clips from his first feature film, “The Summer of Walter Hacks,” which was released in 2009, another short film titled “Bad Robbers,” and he will share a trailer from his upcoming film, “The Farm Boy,” that will premiere in Hyde Park in late March.
Returning to the big screen in Vermont
Woodchuck Theater Co. has announced three February screening dates in Vermont for Woodard’s 2010 film, “The Summer of Walter Hacks” starting in Waterbury. All tickets will be $7.
Saturday, Feb. 11, 6:30 p.m. at Brookside Primary School. Tickets at the door.
Sunday, Feb. 19, 2 p.m. matinee at the Vergennes Opera House, 120 Main St., Vergennes. Tickets online and at the door.
Saturday, Feb. 25, 6:30 p.m. at Morrisville River Arts, 74 Pleasant St., Morrisville. Tickets at the door.
The screenings will feature a Q&A session with Woodard and a preview of his next film, “The Farm Boy.”
