Lost Nation Theater’s latest production “for kids and by kids” hits the stage for three shows March 1-2 with an hourlong youth adaptation of the Broadway musical “Tuck Everlasting.”
The show is the final project of the company’s Winter Youth Dance Theater Intensive comprised of students ages 9-16 directed and choreographed by Taryn Noelle. Musical director is Timothy Guiles.

The ensemble production includes favorite characters from Natalie Babbitt's beloved book in a stage adaptation by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle with a score from Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen. “Tuck Everlasting” is titled as a TYA project, which stands for Theatre for Young Audiences, a branch of theater that creates and presents theatrical experiences for children, teens, young adults, and families.
"I am so excited to work on this beautiful play - such a wonderful opportunity for movement, set to a vibrant, Celtic-flavored score with motion, emotive opportunities and witty dialogue. This is also a fabulous ensemble piece!” Noelle said. “The ensemble is written to be in constant motion.”

The story which has been adapted for both stage and screen focuses on 11-year-old Winnie Foster who yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck family does she get more than she could have imagined.
First, she finds incredible friendship with Jesse Tuck and his family. But when Winnie discovers the magical secret of the Tuck family (they are immortal!), she embarks on a quest to protect them and their secret spring from those who would exploit them. It changes her life forever. Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.
In addition to Noelle and Guiles, Jessica Della Pepa designs costumes and Lost Nation Theater founder Kim Bent handles the scenic design while Audrey Wubbena manages the lights. Tara Hightower is stage manager assisted by students Emily Cook and Jason Perez.
